Yesterday I shared how our thoughts can dictate our mood and how you can “Think Yourself Happy”.
But the thing about life is it happens. It doesn’t take a vacation and decide to occasionally change our course. No, life happens every day.
This means every day we either receive disappointing news, overdue bills, risk car accidents, or faced with a major challenge.
These factors can really toil our minds.
This is why our minds have to be refreshed or renewed.
Imagine the labor, sweat and dirt that your physical body accumulates every day. Do you wait a few days or weeks before you decide to refresh yourself either by way of a shower or bath?
I sure hope not!
If you did you might think you are able to tolerate yourself, but those around you would definitely notice you are not paying attention to certain aspects of your life.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed [changed] by the renewal of your mind…” (Romans 12:2).
As believers, we receive the power to renew our minds when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal savior. We do not have to repeat this process every day.
However, we do have to activate this power, this wisdom each day.
It is sort of like having access to water, but only using it one time to wash our bodies.
We must apply this God-given power to our minds by intentionally thinking about the things of God. We activate this power by intentionally declaring the promises of God.
When the enemy attempts to distract us from having a healthy mind and being happy through his deceit and endeavors to keep us focus on our problems, it is time for us to renew our minds!
Choose to activate your power.
Choose to be intentional.
Choose to renew your mind!
