Theme Scripture: “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy” (Philippians 1:3-4a, NLT).
Where’s Your Joy?: Today is National Day of Prayer, as well as, the kickoff to Mental Health Awareness Month. You might be thinking, I didn’t know today was national prayer day. Well, it’s okay. It’s never too late to pray, unless you are deceased. The fact that you are reading this devotional blog, is a great indication that you are blessed to be alive. Sadly, there are many that are physically alive, but mentally and spiritually dead. There are many that are alive, but even wish they were physically dead. Any time our minds wonder to this state, we have entered into a state of defeat and have allowed ourselves to be emptied from happiness and joy.
“I think myself happy,” (Acts 26:2a, KJV).
Spiritual Manifestation: Prayer is always in order. We can pray boldly out loud, collectively or privately. We can pray silently. Different circumstances and occasions cause us to pray to God for ourselves and for others. When we are serving as intercessors we should do it with joy as Paul described. And when we are praying ourselves through a situation, we don’t have to remain in a depressed state of mind. Like Paul, we can think ourselves happy.
This month, focus on your joy. Let no one steal your joy or rob you from your happiness. Admittedly, it can be difficult to be happy or express joy when your environment or circumstances don’t compliment. But it starts with our attitudes, with our minds being transformed. Now where’s Your Joy? Find it because it’s manifestation time!
