Separate, Not Equal

“So set yourselves apart to be holy, for I am the LORD your God. Keep all my decrees by putting them into practice, for I am the LORD who makes you holy” (Leviticus 20:7-8, NLT).

Separate, Not Equal: It us just amazing how our Creator created an infinity of individuals with unique personalities. As His creation, He loves us all just the same. We all have an opportunity to accept a relationship with Him and allow Him to be our LORD and Savior. As citizens in this society, we, for the most part accept our uniqueness and expect to be treated with dignity and respect as a human being. This is a right that each person should have. Sin is what separates mankind from its Creator. However, once we accept to have a relationship with our Creator, as Christians we become separated from the general population. This blessed relationship requires us to consecrate ourselves. Does this still mean that we are equal to those that have not or yet to accept a relationship with God?

“But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy” (1 Peter 1:15, NLT).

Spiritual Manifestation: We are daily experiencing the manifestation of 2 Timothy 3. In the last decade alone, our society has transitioned from law and order to a grey justice and chaos. Yes, we have experienced injustice and chaos in history, but now we are losing our standard of morality. Even though it is not a surprise, it is disappointing to see those that confessed and declared to stand firm on biblical issues are the main ones compromising their standards, beliefs and faith. As ambassadors of Christ, Christian disciples and royal priests we are mandated to represent Christ. We have been charged to live holy and stand firm on God’s Word not by merely emotionalizing people on Sunday, enjoying fellowship or reading the Bible as part of our check off list. This is the time to use the armor of God with boldness. We are not equal to nonbelievers. We are a peculiar people. Therefore, our response is different when laws are being changed that do not align with God’s Word. We can treat everyone with dignity and respect without compromising our required standards. God will hold us accountable for obeying His Word. We are separate from carnality and we are not equal to nonbelievers. Walk in your authority because it’s manifestation time!

With Love in the Spirit,
Evangelist Hastings
