Answer to Bible Trivia (2.7.11):  Jericho, Deuteronomy 34:3

2011 Theme: Make GOD GREATER!

Greetings:

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV

Love’s Secret Language: Now that the day has arrived for you to shower your love to the special person in your life, after all of the shopping and planning are you really prepared to showcase your love? Perhaps, today will be framed in time as a memorable moment out of the 365 days. But what if after you have done all the planning and presentations to make that special person feel special, you haven’t gotten them what they desired? More disappointingly, you managed to make them happy for a day and they feel neglected the other 364. The truth is love is the most powerful word in every language, yet it is the most misused and misunderstood. There is no greater love than the love Jesus Christ showed on Calvary. The closest love to that is when man and woman become one. We encounter our stages of love throughout relationships in life, but when GOD blesses a union there is a love experienced that doesn’t compare to the world. Because all of us are so uniquely designed, we have our ‘secret’ love language. It doesn’t come wrapped in a box. It’s not captured in one day. Instead, it intensifies every day and it is understood by taking the time to know what our spouses like, need and desire. Dr. Emerson Eggerichs describes it this way, “The love she most desires…the respect he desperately needs” (Love & Respect, 2004).

“This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one. So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband” (Ephesians 5:32-33, NLT).

Spiritual Manifestation: There is no secret that men and women love differently. It is the Creator’s design. Many do not realize this until after marriage. Christ has illustrated His love for the church, but we do not always give Him the respect that He deserves. When we disrespect Him; his omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence we do not receive the full benefits of His relationship with us. Likewise, when we do not love and respect our spouses, we fall short in the relationship. We attempt to fix things by giving the other person what they do not need or even want. GOD has not hidden what pleases Him. Take the time to know what the special person in your life needs and desires. Start learning their love language today, and release the secret to a healthy relationship. Allow GOD to become greater in your earthly relationships through the greatest gift: LOVE!
